Hi, I’m Patrick and welcome to my kitchen!

The first thing I ever cooked on my own was a fried egg. I was in third grade and I was responsible for making my own breakfast - apples and cinnamon oatmeal just wasn’t cutting it. Now I’m not saying that egg was a culinary masterpiece, but it started a love for cooking and experimenting in the kitchen. Both of my parents are fantastic cooks and there was always something delicious on the stove, coming out of the oven, or sizzling on the grill. Countless hours were spent around the kitchen island as mom whipped up a batch of cookies or spaghetti sauce, all chock full of love.

Since moving to Washington DC I have attempted to make my little apartment’s kitchen a model of my mother’s. Cooking has become an outlet for me to share love and build a community in my new hometown. Whether it’s someone coming over to learn to make pasta for the first time or a long time coming catch up, there’s no better day in my opinion than one spent gathered around the table to eat, drink, laugh, dish some dirt, and celebrate together. Food and wine are my love language, do you speak it?
